The One Where They Meet
Thank goodness for friend’s birthdays and FOMO (fear of missing out). Without both of those things this meet cute may have never happened. As it turns out neither Dave nor Kim were particularly up for going out that January night, but having been invited to Jellyrolls for a mutual friend’s birthday they both figured what could it hurt! That’s where Kim caught Dave’s eye, but it wasn’t until they started talking football, more specifically Florida State Football, that they had their first “official” meeting. Too bad Kim thought Dave was taken and paid no attention to him… more on that later. As the night progressed and the 88 keys of the dueling pianos started winding down the party decided to move next door, and Kim decided to go home because she had to work early. With a dash of courage Dave decided to message Kim on Facebook and to his surprise she responded! (only after some Facebook stalking and phone calls to a girlfriend who worked with Dave did she decide to take a chance and respond) You see, Kim was not interested in dating at the time, but after a few days of chatting via text message, and an invitation to watch Harry Potter, did this romance start to blossom…
The One Where She Says “Thanks?”
We’ve all heard the stories where someone says they meet the girl or guy of their dreams and they say that night “that’s the one I’m gonna marry!” Well for Dave that’s how this played out. As mentioned above, Kim wasn’t ready to start dating someone seriously (or so she thought, looking back now she was equally as smitten as Dave just as quickly), but that didn’t stop Dave from telling her after a week of talking “it’s okay, I’m going to marry you some day.” See Dave knew right away, and had no problem sharing everything a litttttttle too quickly. The first “official” date happened a couple months later when the two went to dinner at Café Tu Tu Tango and then bowling after. In case you’re wondering Kim won the best of three series. And as Dave pulled in to Kim’s complex at the end of the night a light rain started. The mood was set, the timing was right, the kiss in the rain was something out of a novel by that guy who wrote the Notebook… “I love you” said Dave, and with a look of astonishment in her eyes Kim replied… “Thanks?” Dave still to this day doesn’t let Kim live that one down.
The One Where She Says Yes
3 years later… Trying to keep a secret from Kim is hard. Trying to hide a ring from Kim is even harder. Getting that ring to Disneyland in California is down right difficult. Coordinating among family, friends, and a team of Guest Relations Cast Members to get that ring into the park and to Walt Disney’s apartment to propose is a monumental task. One that Dave couldn’t himself keep straight. You see Kim knew about the tour, her mom and sister knew about the tour AND the proposal, Kim thought this tour of Walt Disney’s apartment was a surprise for her sister, Dave couldn’t keep all of this straight. So the day of the proposal Dave asked Kim’s sister Heather if she was excited to go see Walt’s apartment! Everyone shook their heads in disbelief. Dave had been trying to throw Kim off the scent of a proposal for weeks now, asking things like is that the ring you want? Where do you want to be proposed to? When do you want to get engaged? Now the day has arrived, and there were matching Mickey and Minnie shirts to be worn. Dave naturally asked if that was what Kim wanted to be wearing when she got engaged. Kim laughed. The tour starts, everyone is in awe to be in Walt’s actual apartment, pictures are being taken, and Dave drops to one knee to present Kim with… a pair of earrings? That can’t be right. Those are for Kim’s mom! The roller coaster of emotions were greater than the hairpin turns on the Matterhorn roller coaster. Kim went from total shock and crying to laughing uncontrollably at just thinking she received the world’s greatest (or worst) practical joke. After her mother said yes to being Dave’s mother in law, Dave finally asks if Kim if she will marry him… this time with the ring that was smuggled into Disneyland.

The Big Day
We had the most amazing time with Kim and Dave on their wedding day!! The weather could not have been more perfect and we laughed the whole day. Their ceremony was held on the lawn and they said “I Do” under the swaying palm trees with friends and family surrounding them! As they walked down the aisle as husband and wife everyone threw beach balls into the air. What a perfect way to celebrate! After some fun photos around Margaritaville Resort Orlando we headed into the ballroom for the real party to start! With blues and purples and beachy leaves about it was the perfect setting! Congratulations to both of you and we cannot thank you enough for letting us be a part of your big day!!
