Nia and Ryan met in the military while stationed in Japan. Although they were in different branches of the military, they still managed to cross paths over seas. With many similar interests it was bound to be the perfect match! Nia has since left the military while Ryan is still in the Navy and they are now stationed in Texas. Because of all the moving around they decided to have a destination wedding and what better place than Orlando, Florida at the beautiful Paradise Cove.
With a love for the online game Kingdom Hearts and Disney, the decision to theme their wedding was easy. So many integrate details went into making that happen. From Nia’s heart bracelet to Ryan’s keyblade boutonniere. Each bridesmaid was subtly themed after a different Disney princess and their flowers also reflected that. The groomsmen boutonniere’s featured a Mickey emblem and a sword. Guests were greeted at the ceremony with a mirrored sign with a quote from Square Enix in Kingdom Hearts with Sora Roxas Xion’s key blade propped next to it. Each table for the ceremony was themed with a different Disney movie and at each place setting was a bottle of bubbles with the keyblade and a star fruit pin. Even the cake had the Kingdom Hearts heart design. Their romantic first dance was sang by one of Nia’s bridesmaid, Shanna Morales, and the song was Sanctuary from Kingdom Hearts. Even their last dance was from the game.
It’s so fun to see all the details a couple put into their wedding, especially when it’s themed. I had never heard of the game so it’s was fun to learn more about it. So many guests were fans and loved all the special touches put into the day.
